This model is the Clear RED bat top/Japanese mounting without collar/Korean microswitch (Gersung GSM-V1623A3)/silicone grommet (35 tension), version of the Crown 303 series.
The 303 is Crown's answer to people looking for a grommet style stick that plays like a JLF. This amazing new stick has combined Crown's traditional grommet centering system with newly designed actuators and a variety of microswitches to create a smooth and sensitive feeling stick for the fighting community.
MICROSWITCHES
Most of Crown sticks now have installed Gersung microswitches. This microswitch come with the .187" tabs used in traditional joysticks that can easily be adapted to a fight stick with a conversion harness.
MOUNTING PLATE
The designation "J" in the 303FJ indicates that this is a japanese style mounting plate with the appropriate holes compatible with most Sanwa JLF mounts. This is different than the "M" in 303MJ that indicates a Low-profile collar.
SILICONE GROMMET VS. SPRING
Silicone was designed to increase the durometer (stiffeness) and provide a more elastic feel to the stick. Silicone creates a feel that is closer to a spring with mild dampening than the more heavily dampened system of latex. For users of Japanese levers, the silicone will feel closer to the spring returns they are used to with more consistent resistance throughout the range of movement.
